In the time-lost town of Saffronyia where fireworks blossom in the nighttime air and where the warm summer wind always blows, there are nefarious doings afoot. Malicious fairies gather in hidden glades to plot the kidnappings of little children, giant wolves prowl the surrounding forests, and idols to strange gods are reared in secret groves.

If that weren’t bad enough the town council has come up with a plot to rid Saffronyia of its model-citizen Tyrell, after which they plan to help themselves to the treasure which he is rumored to have won fighting the raiders and bandits who have come against Saffronyia in years past. If their plot fails to destroy him…well, the ungrateful townspeople may just decide to make him their new mayor.
